As a part of our mission to support and encourage local youth dancers in their studies, the Sunshine Coast Nutcracker provides scholarships which are sponsored by the Sunshine Coast Youth Dance Association (SCYDA). These scholarships are awarded to Nutcracker participants who also performed in the Coastal Dance Festival this spring and were recommended by the festival adjudicators. Congratulations to this season's recipients.
A Modern TwistThe Nutcracker is a beloved ballet tradition enjoyed by audiences around the globe each season. The Sunshine Coast Nutcracker is excited to present the classic tale audiences know and love, with a modern twist that will have something new and exciting to offer the Coast.

New OpportunitiesThis season, the Sunshine Coast Nutcracker will open new and exciting roles for Ballet as well as Acrobatics, Modern, Contemporary dance & more.
Although this is a classical ballet, we wish to offer more opportunities for local young dancers to share the stage with the professionals that they admire & are inspired by. |
A Community EventThe Sunshine Coast Nutcracker is a collective of dance professionals offering opportunities for local dancers to take part in this wonderful tradition.
In addition, there are also opportunities for the collaboration of local artists, technicians, stage managers etc, and the knowledge they can pass on to the next generation. |
